Sandlanders, an umbrella organisation for football supporters, and supporters owned football clubs in Africa have rated the 2023 European Football Fans Congress very high.
The African entity that participated in the just concluded congress in Manchester UK at the behest of its partner, Football Supporters Europe FSE.
Speaking with the media, Sandlanders General Secretary, Ayodeji Adegbenro said Supporters are the lifeblood of football, and it’s important they have a seat at the table where decisions that affects the game are made.
“Covid-19 pandemic and the European Super League debacle showed us how important Supporters are and they power they wield when united. Governing bodies must start seeing supporters as partners in progress rather than a bunch of troublesome people”
The Sandlanders team at the Congress include: General Secretary, Ayodeji Adegbenro; Mathew Haikali of the Namibian FA who participated in the Kick-off Project research, Adebayo Akande Fan Coordinator, and Director, Paul Jones.
