Flying Eagles of Nigeria have beaten Skylink FC of Jos 5-0 in a game they showed class and intensity in readiness for the world cup task ahead of them.
The team showed grit and were simply a delight to watch on Friday morning at the FIFA goal project Abuja. The match was organized to help the boys fine tune ahead of the U-20 men’s FIFA world cup slated for Argentina in May.
Mohammed Beji opened scoring for the Flying Eagles in the 9th minute, and made it a brace from an open play almost immediately after a defensive slip in the 10th minute to make it 2-0 at half time.
Shortly after the break, Skylink returned with a renewed vigor and turned the match into a game of power and strength, as the Jos based outfit were resolute in most parts of the second half and proved too stubborn for the Ladan Bosso boys to easily submerge.
But the experience of coach Isah Ladan Bosso came to the fore as the few tactical changes he made towards the tail end of the match counted with Samson Lawal increasing the tally to 3-0 in the 83rd minute.
And just when spectators thought 3-0 will be the final score, Baakaka struck twice from close range in the 88 and 89th minute to end the game 5-0 at full time.
The Flying Eagles will continue again with another friendly match with Triple O Academy, a Kaduna based outfit on Saturday in Abuja.
