Despite beating premier league side Wikki Tourist 2-0 in a warm-up match ahead of the African Youth Championship (AYC) billed for Cairo next year in Egypt, assistant coach of Nigeria’s U-20 men’s team, Coach Fatai Amoo has charged his players not to be carried away with the results of their tune up games so far.

In continuation of their fine form since they resumed camping ahead of the AYC, the flying eagles have been enjoying an endless run of winning streak, with Wikki Tourist the latest to be sniffed off, after goals from Lekan Adams and Olusegun Otusanya subsisted their impressive run, paimedia.com.ng reports.

Coach Fatai is aware of the doom complacency can spell if the boys gets carried away and has sounded it to them not to rely on their past achievement if they want to succeed in Egypt and eventually qualify for the world cup in Indonesia.
He also noted that the technical crew are working on a more dogged and resilient team that’ll be presented at the AYC which will be much more strenuous than their outing at the WAFU regional tournament in Niger Republic.

“so many good points and of course the week points too, that’s why we come back to not stay on what we have achieved in the past”
“We now know that we have to strengthen the team by bringing in more talented skillful and of course purposeful players so that the team, going into the Afcon is going to be tougher than the WAFU because WAFU is just regional but we’re now talking about the African championship where you’re going to meet other good football playing teams at that level”
The Flying Eagles will know their opponents on Friday, December 23 ahead of the U-20 AFCON championship next year in Egypt, paimedia.com.ng gathered.
