Fans, football spectators, including enthusiasts alike, on Tuesday morning hailed the performance of Green Lock FC, despite playing out a 1-1 draw against Chidex FA in a friendly match at the Bwari Township Stadium, Abuja.
In what could be described as a keenly contested encounter between these two teams, Chidex FA drew the first blood in the early 13 minutes of the game through Caleb Chichi’s solo drive, even as the game would become a ding-dong affair, as time wore on to the advantage of the visitors at halftime.
Green Lock FC made several incursions in opposition’s vital area on resumption from the break, but the combination of Damilola Adeyeye, Barbas Theophilus, and Edwin Onazi failed to take advantage of the numerous chances they created to apply the finish.
The coach Idris Bolarinwa’s tutored side probed deep and asked many questions, but it took Enock Eneche once again, who was thrown into the frey in the second half to step up to the plate to provide answer and level score for his side in the 80th minute of the game.
Fans were thrown into delirium, chanting “Green Lock – FC”, as both teams gave a very good account of themselves on the pitch with beautiful spectacle of rich footballing artistry.
The match would end 1-1, despite efforts from both teams to find a winner in regulation time.
