Mouktar who remains one of the best performing FA chairman so far in the country believes playing in the semi finals is not too much of a demand to ask from the boys, bearing in mind he is not even asking them to win the trophy, but finishing among the top four teams should be a priority.
The ingenious chairman went on to say the boys were given the requisite support and stimulus by the NFF with a propitious aura that should enhance a performance worthy of a champion, stressing the Ladan Bosso boys needs to go full swing in pulling the string for the country as the tournament progresses.
“We want to see them at the semi finals, it is not too much to ask, and am not even saying they should win the cup but at least we should be in the last four. but the minimum is, they must qualify from the group to the knockout stages to begin to show that they are part of the big boys”
“The NFF have done all it takes to camp them and give them a conducive environment, now the ball is in their court to perform, so they need to go out there and make the country proud, that is what is left at the moment, since they’ve been giving all the necessary support and motivation, so they must go out there and show they can be champions”
“Well I don’t have a magic wand, I can’t see the future but all I know is that Nigeria is a giant in football, and we’re passionate, so our expectations are always high” he concluded.
Haven won her first game against Dominican Republic on Sunday, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria are expected to continue with such fine form when they square up against the Gli Azzurrini of Italy on Wednesday at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas stadium, Mendoza city, Argentina.
